"How's my old job treating you?" Killian asked, stepping over a pile of rocks. He and Elisabeth Fiorelli hadn't talked much since she took over the bulk of Rocket's intel work, a workload he'd given her begrudgingly. [break][break]

It turns out handling the responsibilities of underboss and admin were too much for him. Too bad he couldn't duplicate himself.[break][break]

Elisabeth's experience with Underboss Decker was fairly limited, until this point. [break][break]

She had broken into the CDC with him alongside Cillian Quinn, true, and she had encountered him in brief at events such as the S.P.E.C.T.R.A. exams and their mutual appearance at the behest of declan walsh to discuss the next path for Rocket.[break][break]

This, however, marked the first one-on-one conversation that Elisabeth could recall ever having with the man.[break][break]

"You are a man with large shoes to fill, Underboss Decker," was her polite, but honest, answer. A sly smile turned the corner of her lips upwards as she added, "I am doing my best to rise to the occasion, however."[break][break]

Deception had served her well, too, in another place and time. Adjusting that skillset to suit her present needs was a challenge, but an enjoyable one.[break][break]

Where the Underboss had brought his Umbreon, she had brought her Leafeon, Clover -- a much more rambunctious Pokémon in all respects, bounding ahead excitedly to shadow the Dark-type in their pursuit of the swine.[break][break]

"Hm," Elisabeth said, scanning the premises. "They seem to be drawn to the right path more than the left."[break][break]

Either that, or Clover was misbehaving again. It wouldn't be the first time.

That whole surname business provided a distance Killian didn't enjoy. "Last time someone used my surname, they called me Dicker." he chuckled bitterly, recalling Summer Atreides and her drunken slip-up.

Even if Elisabeth didn't yet know, precisely, what that something was. "It's taken some getting used to. Being one of the haves, instead of the have-nots."[break][break]

It hadn't been so long ago since she was a nobody in their organization, having transplanted in from Kalos seemingly from thin air.[break][break]

She followed the Underboss's lead with ease, a wry smile answering the term 'Dicker.' "I'm sure there's a funny story there," she commented blithely, watching her Leafeon sniff about impatiently for his prey. "Did it end well for the offending party?"
